Visit Seattle’s award-winning marketing team seeks an inspired in-house Graphic Designer with experience in both print and electronic media to join our small-but-mighty cast of characters. The successful candidate will be a creative problem-solver who can take direction in written or spoken form and efficiently convert them into images, layouts and other designs thoughtfully geared to deliver results, always championing Visit Seattle brand standards.

List of Essential Job Functions:

  • Under the direction of the Creative Director, support all internal departments with graphic design including:
    • Editing/augmenting/designing pages across multiple web properties
    • Creation and production of aesthetically pleasing, effective print & digital materials including: brochures, microsites, email newsletters, infographics maps, mailers, client communications, invitations, menus, print & digital signage, forms, and other media as needed.
    • Event and environmental design for industry functions including lighting, décor, environmental graphics/features, etc.
  • Develop/maintain relationships with various local production vendors
  • Other duties as assigned

 Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:  

  • Four to five years of experience in web & print design, B.A. or B.S. in graphic design or equivalent academic or work experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Essential: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver & Acrobat)
  • Comfort on both Mac (primary) and Windows (secondary) platforms
  • Experience working in WordPress
  • Working knowledge of HTML5 & CSS3
  • Experience with both digital and offset print production
  • Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from internal/external clients
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Creative, collaborative, enthusiastic and innovative
  • True commitment to excellence in both product and process
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, diplomacy and maintain confidentiality in a wide variety of internal and public situations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing and communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Illustration, digital animation and video editing skills a plus
